Scenting Gadget to Tag along Gaming Device for Better Virtual Visualization

Yes, it is true that the time has come to take our virtual visualization to a brand new level. Gaming devices will have a new peripheral – to emanate scents during the gaming experience.

ScentScape is a gadget that will accompany your Wiis and PSPs soon, and the device has the capacity to store 20 different scents, and they are emanated at different sequences.

This bad boy is available in Australia for 70 Australian dollars, and will be launched later this year.

The scenting experience is pre-programmed within the game, and the game developer decides when to release what scent.

ScentSciences, the company responsible for this gadget’s creation, based out of California, is already bringing in the flexibility to the scenting experience. Their application – ScentEditor allows users to create their own scents and share them with other players. Pretty neat huh!

The extension of ScentScape is geared toward home videos, and this I think could be a bigger hit than the gaming world. But, that being said, gives me a nasty feeling in my gut imagining watching horror movies with this gizmo.
