You might have noticed that a number of posts on this blog disappeared last week. They are a result of some major strategic changes that are in the works!
It’s been almost two years since I started this blog. I have penned on the topics that I have a keen interest in – project management, IT service management, tech, book and movie reviews, GTD techniques and on personality development.
Due to the varied genre, I have been fighting to find a loyal reader base, readers who give me repeat visits and look forward to posts on the topic of their interest. Somebody in the IT field may not be interested to read a movie review or a GTD concept, although it is helpful. Similarly people coming to my site for personality development techniques find project management and IT service management odd.
I have a few readers who I interact with on a regular basis. Around the turn of the new year – 2011, I spoke to some of them to understand their stand on this issue. One felt that she had to filter certain posts on my website, as it was not what she wanted. And, others had a similar stand as well. I interacted with some well known bloggers, and they were merely surprised that I had a good reader base despite maintaining varied genres. They were of the view that if I separated out the oil from the water, and maintained separate websites, it would work out for the better.
I have decided to have two different blogs instead of one. This one – Abhinav PMP | IT Blog will strictly be a vehicle for information technology related articles – project management, IT service management, IT methodologies, ISO certifications, job interview tips, office politics and tech stuff.
The one on personality development, GTD techniques, writing tips and book and movie reviews would be Abhinav’s, a new website which is hosting all the disappeared posts on this website.
I sincerely apologize for those who had interest in both the sets of topics, you may have to subscribe to both the feeds or follow both the websites to get the full dosage of what you did pre-today.
